PH-BN inching closer to form Selangor govt

SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN are leading in the Selangor state election with 24 seats.

The development witnessed the coalition inching closer to the simple majority to form a government at 28 of 56 seats.

Perikatan Nasional (PN) won in 15 Selangor state seats.

A total of 17 more seats did not have an official decision as of 11.20pm.

Selangor PN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali's victory in the Hulu Kelang state seat was a massive surprise among all the results.

He had successfully defeated his opponent PH candidate Juwairiya Zulkifli with a majority of 1,617.

In Gombak Setia, PN's Hilman Idham won with a slim majority of 58 votes against Selangor Umno chairman Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin.
