Hilman defends Gombak Setia by only 58 votes

SHAH ALAM - Gombak Setia incumbent Hilman Idham from Perikatan Nasional has managed to defeat Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin by only 58 votes.

Hilman garnered a total of 30,299 votes while Megat, with the support of Pakatan Harapan, obtained 30,241 votes.

Meanwhile, independent candidate Mohamed Salim Mohamed Ali secured 1,076 votes.

Only 69 per cent or 61,616 of 88,480 registered voters turned up to cast their votes today with no spoilt votes.

In the 14th General Election, Hilman won with 24,157 votes beating Megat (11,113) and Pas candidate Hasbullah Mohd Ridzwan (11,758).

He obtained a majority of 12,399 votes.

There was a total of 328 spoilt votes while total registered voters were 55,461.

Hilman had defeated incumbent Hasbullah, who was under the Pakatan Rakyat banner.
