DAP newbies excel in state polls

GEORGETOWN - DAP's decision in placing new candidates in the Penang state election line up has paid off, as all of the candidates emerged victorious in the seats contested.

In announcing the winners, its Caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said that the state unity government has won 29 seats including the seats contested by the new candidates.

Phee Syn Tze who contested in Sungai Puyu garnered 23,838 votes, while Bagan Jermal candidate Chee Yeeh Keen managed to get 19,687 votes.

Seri Delima candidate Connie Tan Hooi Peng achieved victory with 16,384 votes, Pengkalan Kota Wong Yuee Harng with 14,921 votes and Pulau Tikus candidate Joshua Woo Sze Zeng won with 11,577 votes.

The Perai state seat was won almost effortlessly by Datuk Seri S. Sundarajoo.
