YAN - Perikatan Nasional (PN) has unofficially won today’s Kedah polls with the current tally of the seats it won at press time stands at 25 seats.

Essentially, this meant that PN is poised to form government here in Kedah as it has already passed the simple majority needed to return to power which is 19 seats.

Caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor had also managed to defend his incumbent seat of Jeneri against a one-on-one battle against Barisan Nasional (BN).

At press time, the the sole seat won by the alliance of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN was that of Kota Darul Aman by DAP’s Teh See Leong.

PH-BN is co-captained by Datuk Mahfuz Omar and Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid; both of whom lost the electoral bout at the Alor Mengkudu and Pedu state seats

Kedah has a total of 36 seats.
