TUMPAT - Kelantan Pas commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yakob is confident that his party will retain administration in the state despite lower voting percentage than Kedah and Terengganu.

However, he said the number of seats that the party will win was still unknown.

"I believe Pas will be able to defend Kelantan," he told reporters after casting his vote at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kampung Laut here, today.

Ahmad urged all citizens to continue to come out and vote.

In the state elections, Pas is contesting 39 out of 45 State Legislative Assembly seats, while six seats were contested by its ally Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

In the previous 14th General Election (GE14), Pas won 37 seats while Barisan Nasional (BN) won eight.
