TUMPAT - Kelantan Pas commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yakob reveals that health complications are the reason for him rejecting to remain as Menteri Besar (MB) if the party was given a mandate through the elections.

He said the matter was announced by Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang this year.

"I have fallen twice and have a slight slip disc. I also have heart complications.

"That's why I informed I do not want to remain as Menteri Besar for health reasons," he said when met by reporters after voting in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kampung Laut here on Saturday.

He said as soon as Pas successfully forms the government, the list of names based on eligibility to become the new MB candidate would be revealed by Hadi.

Ahmad said three names would be brought forward and they would be presented to the Kelantan Sultan, Sultan Muhammad V for his approval.

The Pasir Pekan state seat Pas candidate said becoming the MB was not a simple task as it was a huge responsibility.

"A Menteri Besar must face through many challenges," he said.
