Sanusi to respond to Vincent Tan's lawsuit

KULIM: Caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor will respond to the lawsuit filed by Berjaya Corporation Bhd Chairman Founder and Advisor Tan Sri Vincent Tan, and Berjaya Land Bhd.

However, Sanusi said he has yet to receive the said notice.

"I will respond to the notice when it arrives," he said after attending the Grand Finale Sembang Santai With Sanusi at Padang Awam Tunku Putra on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Tan and Berjaya Land filed the lawsuit in the Shah Alam High Court, which was was done through Tetuan Pierre Chuah & Associates legal firm.

The case management has been set on Sep 4.

The lawsuit was filed in response to recent statements purportedly made by Sanusi, in which he alleged that both parties were corrupt and are cronies of Caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, and also have obtained 600 hectares of land for free.

Tan claimed that the defamatory statement implied that both provided benefits to Amirudin in return for receiving the said land for free. - Awani
