Mohd Amar says 'no comments' on changes to Kelantan MB, deputy post after election
KOTA BHARU - Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah has refused to comment on Pas's decision to change the menteri besar and the deputy post after the Kelantan state elections.
He instead said that the focus is now on their victory and maintaining the government.
"I have no comments. You must ask Takiyuddin; there are no answers I can provide even if you ask.
"My priority is to focus on maintaining the government," he said when asked to comment on Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin’s statement about the coalition’s Menteri Besar and Deputy Menteri Besar’s posts being changed if Kelantan won in the elections.
The media reported on Friday that Kelantan was expected to have a new menteri besar and deputy menteri besar following Pas’s suggestion to combine those religious and technocrats for the posts.
Caretaker Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob, who was currently defending his Pasir Pekan state seat in the elections, informed his candidature is his seventh and would be his last.
He said he would make way for younger candidates next time around.
Amar was defending the Panchor state seat.
Takiyuddin said Terengganu and Kedah would have their Menteri Besar maintained according to the public mandate and the orders of the Sultans in both states.
He said the decision was reached in the Central Pas Daily Committee Meeting in Rusila, Terengganu, on Thursday, chaired by Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
