SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) cooperation over the past nine months is effective in getting electors leaning to vote for the party.

Former Klang MP Charles Anthony Santiago said that the PH-BN’s administration helmed by Prime MInister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had done very well since it administrated the country in November last year and it could tilt the voters to elect its candidates in the state polls.

“They had rolled out many projects for the people, with 49 different protection policies, which are very good.

“Many people have benefited from the projects such as single mothers, hence why would want to change (the government),” he told Sinar Daily during an interview.

Meanwhile, Charles also pointed out that environmental protection plans adopted by the government, including in Selangor were necessary, especially for the rivers.

“This is something we have to do and we have to look at the environment as the growth area and the growth industry is not expenditure, as it’s an investment.

“Rivers are not an expenditure but an investment because with the current climate change, it can be a source for drinking water for the people. This is what has been done in other countries, so I don’t see why we cannot do that in Malaysia.

“Going forward, there will be more challenges, especially largely on the environment,” he added, referring to climate change which had worsened over the years.
