SHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for Subang Jaya Gana Pragasam Sebastian has stressed that popularity alone cannot secure votes in politics due to the diverse and unique nature of political agendas.

As an election newbie, Gana argues that individuals from various backgrounds, including artists, have the right to engage in politics and community service, dispelling the notion that artists cannot transition into politics successfully.

Gana addresses the question of why artists should be allowed in politics by highlighting the fundamental human rights that apply to everyone, irrespective of their profession.

"We are human beings too, and why can't we participate in politics?" he told Sinar Daily recently.

Gana also expressed his commitment to his political endeavors, stressing that his focus is on serving the community rather than pursuing acting opportunities.

He states that he won't act in movies but may consider producing them in the future.

"I want to concentrate on people," he affirms, acknowledging the responsibility that comes with representing a significant number of constituents.

On entertainment industry, Gana acknowledges the challenges he has faced as a filmmaker in Malaysia, particularly within the Indian community.
