SEBERANG JAYA – The bones of every political party or organisation is all about leadership, outcomes, and result.

This was the view of former Barisan Nasional (BN),Seberang Jaya assemblyman Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah, in an exclusive interview with Sinar Daily.

Arif was formerly an Umno member.

"What is actually the vision that Umno has, are they still maintaining, struggling, and advocating for the Malays?

"Or is it more of the USA factor? Well, if they maintain the USA factor, where everyone basically advocates for themselves or ask what is it in for them, then the leadership in the party will continue doing what they are doing now, which is without being shy they just copperate and go along with whatever," he said.

Arif went on to claim that Umno had joined the unity government because they were afraid that the party will not get allocations from the present ruling government.

"This demonstrates that they are not maintaining the vision and mission of the party when it was formed, I don't think that is right because when you form a party or when you are a member of any organisation or association, you have made your vision and mission very clear.

"You then try to adhere to the vision and mission that was approved when it was incorporated," he said

Arif, who served for two terms from 2004 to 2013 under BN, was sacked from the party in 2012.
