'I want to say to the Chinese, Indians; they are not enemies of the Malays' - Loke
GOMBAK - DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook has reminded the people of Selangor not to be swayed by sentiments being played by political opponents in the current state elections.
He said the people must reject the racial sentiments that political parties are trying to play to gain votes.
"I want to say tonight the Chinese are not the enemies of the Malays. The Malays are not the enemies of the Chinese; the Indians are not the enemies of the Malays.
"We are all Malaysians; we want to unite all Malaysians to make Malaysia even greater globally. This is our mission," he said.
Loke added that the public need to recognise the efforts made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in helping people since he took office.
"Our prime minister is working to elevate our country, to elevate the dignity of our country. We are respected now.
"World leaders come to Malaysia to visit our country to meet the PM. Wherever the PM goes, he receives praise and respect.
"The state elections are our mission to stabilise the politics, to keep Selangor stable for the next five years.
"Today, we stand united; we see red and blue together, the new political force we have.
"PH and BN have come together, we have a new strength, and we will ensure this strength brings victory this Saturday," he said.
He made these remarks while speaking at Thursday's Grand Finale of the "Kita Selangor" rally in Keramat. - AWANI
