Polls: Viral video of FRU placement was a misunderstanding
KUALA LUMPUR - The police deny a report of a viral video regarding a dilapidated residential location being a temporary location for a Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) for the Selangor state election on Saturday.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the report was a misunderstanding from the FRU personnel and police officers from the Klang Selatan district police headquarters (IPD).
“The viral video was sent by an officer who assumed he would be placed in the area which looked dilapidated and unmanaged without any equipment.
“However, the truth was the team from FRU Troup 1 C were placed at a new barrack at the Port Klang police station,” he said.
Razarudin said a police officer from the station misunderstood by showing the old, dilapidated building despite the true location being at a new barrack.
“This matter was a misunderstanding and I assume it has been solved,” he said.
The viral one minute 14-second video was spread since Thursday through WhatsApp.
