Man uses umbrella to rob RM7,000

BATU GAJAH - Armed with only an umbrella, a man robbed a woman of more than RM7,000 in a shop selling beauty products at Jalan Pandak Akhat, here, today.

In the 3.30pm incident, the suspect barged into the shop and threatened the 39-year-old victim to surrender her belongings.

There was another female staff at work during the incident.

Batu Gajah chief police, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said investigations showed the man robbed the victim’s cash and jewellery.

“He is of medium height and small size. During the incident, he wore a long-sleeve, grey shirt, black pants and white shoes,” he said in a statement, here, today.

“From the recording of the closed-circuit television (CCTV), the suspect wore a full-faced dark-coloured helmet,” he said, adding that the police are working to locate the suspect for further actions under the Section 392 Penal Code.
