People in Bayan Lepas are not stupid, Rayer reminds Dominic 

BAYAN LEPAS - The people in Bayan Lepas and the whole Penang are not stupid, Jelutong Member of Parliament RSN Rayer reminds Gerakan President Datuk Dr Dominic Lau.

Rayer who was speaking at a Ceramah Madani yesterday said that political approaches from the opposition could not easily deceive Penangite.

He, however, questioned Lau whether he had raised questions and concerns to Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders who were involved in court cases.

"Send a message to Lau that people here are not stupid, we cannot be easily deceived.

"I want to ask Lau whether he questioned PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Pas leader Abdul Hadi Awang over their action of disobeying our Kings' rule?

"Caretaker Menteri Besar Kedah Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was charged under Sedition Act for making a statement against the Sultan of Selangor, did Lau raise any questions to Sanusi? He didn't because he doesn't dare," he said.

The DAP leader further questioned Lau on his presence during the hardship days of Bayan Lepas people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"I was told that Lau came to Penang to deceive the Malays. Where was he when the people here suffered during the pandemic days?

"Why does he have to come now and contest in Bayan Lepas? He probably thinks people here are uneducated, don't read newspapers, are not engaged with social media and can easily get deceived," he said.

Therefore, Rayer urged the people in Bayan Lepas to be wise and cast their votes for its candidate Azrul Mahathir, who is also the incumbent assemblyman.

"Azrul is one of the leaders who fork out his own money and allowance to help the people here in Bayan Lepas.

"He didn't run away or hide from the issue, hence he stayed and faced bravely. I appreciate his sincerity," he said.
