Bayan Lepas PH candidate slams Dominic for his 'cheap' campaign tactics
BAYAN LEPAS - Bayan Lepas Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Azrul Mahathir criticises his rival, Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai for his campaign tactics which exploit people's hardships.
Azrul expressed his disappointment, saying that Lau was using people's hardship just for his 'political survival'.
"I feel sad when the fate of people here in Bayan Lepas is misused just for political survival.
"Why is there a need to shoot a video and telecast it on social media? Why do you need to make a video to get votes?
"Just to stab me and for his political survival, Lau exploits the hardship of my people," he said.
Azrul was referring to a 3-minute 19 seconds video posted in Lau’s Tik Tok where the latter visited an elderly woman who lives in poor condition at Kampung Sungai Batu.
"Taking pictures of giving aid or allocations are fine but not taking video by showing the poor house condition.
"Islam did not teach us to bring people down," he said.
The incumbent Bayan Lepas Assemblyman further advises Lau to learn how to tackle the voters in a right way.
"If you want to win the election, you must know how to work and tackle the people.
"Your manifesto has to be good, you have to meet the president of parties, associations from mosques. Do I have to teach that too?," he said.
