TAPAH - The male who was suspected of peeping on a woman in the toilet of a petrol station here last Saturday had surrendered himself.

Tapah district police chief Superintendent Mohd Naim Asnawi said that the 15-year-old teenager admitted he was the culprit after a video of the crime went viral on social media.

"The teen came with his father to Tapah district police headquarters (IPD) at 9pm on Sunday.

"An identity parade was done by the victim, and the suspect was identified by his physical build," he said when contacted here on Wednesday.

Mohd Naim said the investigation is ongoing and the shirt worn by the suspect at the time of the incident has been confiscated.

"The case will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for charges under Section 509 of the Penal Code," he said.

Sinar Harian previously reported that the police were tracking a man who had allegedly stalked a woman in a petrol station's toilet at around 4.50pm last Saturday.

The 33-year-old victim, who was aware of the suspect's heinous act, came forward to make a police report.
