You can take the subsidy, but vote for PN - Sanusi
ROSHILA MURNI ROSLIALOR SETAR - Farmers are reminded to vote for Perikatan Nasional (PN) despite the government announcing an increase in paddy subsidies at RM360 to RM500 per metric tonne starting on Wednesday.
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said if the subsidy money was taken by farmers to vote for the PH-BN government it could become an election bribe.
“To avoid any issues of election bribery, vote for PN. The same applies for any PH candidates buying votes because I found that there are some walking around giving money to the public.
“Anyone providing money to you, just don’t vote for them, vote for the opponent instead,” he said when met after the Mai Sat with Kedah Menteri Besar programme at the Tunku Yaakob Park Football Field on Tuesday.
Sanusi who is also the PN Election Director-General claimed the subsidy increase should not have been announced during elections.
“I think it shouldn’t be done, would it be done if there were no elections? Make it outside of elections. This seems like they simply pretended not to know,” he said.
On claims by BN that voter supportwere increasing towards PH-BN, Sanusi said they were ‘full of themselves’.
“There are simply full of it. We saw it in Sinar (Harian) or any newspapers and respond with laughing emojis. Don’t do things that are embarrassing,” he said.
