KULIM - Two brothers were arrested after attempting to falsify the death of their sibling and suspected of murdering the victim in an incident at Taman Sri Mahkota here on Monday.

Kulim district police chief Superintendent Mohd Redzuan Salleh said police received a report from the victim’s brother at 12.30pm stating their 21-year-old sibling had fallen while working in a goat pen at 10.10am.

He said the 26-year-old suspect brought his brother to the Kulim Hospital and he was pronounced dead.

“However, investigations found a confrontation and conflict between the victim and another 18-year-old sibling.

“Their brother had lodged a false police report to hide the real situation,” he said.

Redzuan said the victim’s body was then referred to the Sultanah Bahiyah Alor Setar Hospital’s Forensic Department.

An autopsy found the cause of death was a stab wound in the heart area.

Redzuan said both siblings were then remanded for seven days until Aug 14, to aid investigations.
