KUALA SELANGOR - Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim is confident that Perikatan Nasional (PN) can secure victory in 36 out of 56 seats in Selangor, forming the state government on Aug 12 polls.

He said the confidence was based on his latest observations and experiences gathered during his campaigning trail, adding that the positive outlook was also driven by the support received from Chinese and Indian voters.

"We have found that both communities are now leaning towards PN and if they support us, we will win 36 seats because we will secure the Malay electorate," he said.

Shahidan said this during the Restart Permatang Campaign in Kampung Raja Musa last night.

The former Perlis menteri besar further said PN is confident of winning five statea.

"We aim to get 36 seats in Kedah, 45 in Kelantan, 35 in Terengganu and for Penang, it's a close fight between 50-5.

"In Selangor, Noh (Tan Sri Noh Omar) says 33 (seats) and I say 34, but based on the latest developments, I say 36 (seats)," he added.

Meanwhile, Noh said PN Selangor's manifesto aligns with his six-term efforts as Tanjong Karang MP, stating the manifesto focuses on the welfare of paddy farmers, agriculture workers and fishermen who still require state government assistance.

"In addition, I have long been advocating to remove parking fees and the provision of housing for the youth in this area," he added.
