SHAH ALAM - Caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari stresses that the perception that he is Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali's cartel gang had almost completely been wiped out when he won Gombak parliament in the 15th General Election (GE15).

"This was almost completely over when I won in Gombak with a significant majority.

"I also proved that the Selangor government remained under Pakatan Harapan (PH) and managed to win 16 out of 22 seats in the last GE15," said Amirudin.

He said this during the Keluar Sekejap podcast hosted by former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and former Umno Information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan on Monday.

The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president said that the transition of his image who was initially referred to as Azmin's ally was successfully executed based on his principles as a party member.

"I proved that I am a party member because I joined PKR for its idea, not Azmin," he said.

However, Amirudin admitted, as can be seen in his early days, he was indeed Azmin's gang.

"I don't deny my extensive history in Azmin's camp. History cannot be denied.

"I was also informed that he (Azmin) suggested my name to be the Menteri Besar, but it was at the initial stage because then as per the regular process, the party finally named me among the candidates and before my name was nominated," he explained.

Meanwhile, Amirudin was confident he would remain Menteri Besar if Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) won in the Selangor election.

"I am confident after PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced it three times including at the nomination march in Shah Alam recently.

"The only important thing is that we have to win and make sure we win with a comfortable majority or at least a young majority," he commented.
