Early voting: IGP encourages all police officers to fulfill their responsibility tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR - Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has encouraged police officers to fulfill their responsibility as early voters in the state polls across six states on Tuesday.

Razarudin said that a total of 47,728 police members and their spouses are expected to perform their duty at 260 polling centres with 377 voting channels that have been gazetted by the Election Commission (EC) as Early Voting Centres.

"There is no reason for any of our officials to not carry out their responsibility as voters. Voting is a right entrusted to all of us to exercise.

"This is a manifestation to the people that the police support the democratic process in voting," he said in a recorded speech on Monday.

Razarudin said that therefore, every officers and their partner are ordered to take on voting accountability.

"I also take this opportunity to wish good luck to all police members who have been involved since the nomination, the campaign up until the voting day this Saturday (Aug 12) and post-state elections

Razarudin said that every police member needs to instill a high degree of intention and determination to carry out every trust given with full integrity, sincerity and patience.

"I also pray that all the efforts by the police are protected from any misfortune," he said.
