Accountant arrested for hitting ex-husband

AMPANG - A woman was arrested after hitting and injuring her ex-husband at a home in Bukit Indah, here on Sunday.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said the incident at 6.55pm happened when the 28-year-old victim was cleaning his rental home before it was to be handed back to the owner.

The 38-year-old woman came to the house and scolded the complainant for his RM87,000 debt.

"The suspect proceeded to punch the victim in the mouth and hit her ex-husbands head using a cement scraper along with kicking the victim's stomach.

Police arrested the 38-year-old accountant at 9.45pm in Ampang," he said in a statement on Monday.

He said the couple had reportedly divorced on July 11, and had a daughter aged one-year and seven months.

"The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code and Section 18A of the Domestic Violence Act," he said.
