State polls: BN-PH offer 'Peoples' Wellbeing Scheme' in Negeri Sembilan
SEREMBAN - Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are offering the 'Peoples' Wellbeing Scheme' (Skim Sejahtera Rakyat) which includes cash assistance through the Negeri Sembilan Unity Aspiration in conjunction with the upcoming state election next week.
State PH chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the scheme encompassed the wellbeing of the people from birth to old age.
Among the offers were special cash assistance of RM100 for births from the year 2023 to 2027, RM500 for those getting married for the first time, financial aid for entry into higher education institutions (up to RM1,000) and an annual aid of RM200 for senior citizens.
"The manifesto committee has held multiple meetings to ensure that these good offers can be implemented and the PH-BN leadership had agreed to these proposals.
"We are presenting the Negeri Sembilan Unity Aspiration to the voters and it is our promise that we can implement it according to the needs and capabilities of the state government," he said after launching the Negeri Sembilan Unity Aspiration manifesto today.
As the caretaker Menteri Besar, he explained that the state government has sufficient financial resources to implement the offers.
Therefore, the PH candidate for Sikamat State Legislative Assembly emphasised that all the initiatives and plans offered were a firm commitment of the BN-PH coalition to the people.
"All the initiatives have allocations, especially to address the needs of the people and their issues. Take the Negeri Sembilan student aid for example, many enter fully-residential boarding schools and we provide RM300 assistance.
"We do not want to make promises that cannot be fulfilled. From a financial and capacity perspective, the state government could implement them well, and we could bring joy to the people," he explained.
