SEREMBAN - There are no overblown promises of delivering ‘the moon and stars’ in the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) coalition’s Negeri Sembilan United Aspiration manifesto, which is aimed to ensure the welfare of the people in the state.

PH-BN coalition leaders and candidates in the state described the historic manifesto as being comprehensive and capable of fulfilling the needs of the entire society, from children to the elderly.

State Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias said the manifesto was the result of detailed discussions between PH and BN leaders to prepare the best offer for people in the state.

"It covers all aspects of development, economy, education and religion...youth will also benefit in terms of housing and job opportunities,” he said.

State PH-PKR election director Datuk Dr Ahmad Azam Hamzah meanwhile said that no one in Negeri Sembilan would be left behind as they would benefit from the manifesto, which was launched by state PH chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

"No one is left out of the development in the state, it’s a realistic manifesto. The details will be studied holistically with BN, we don’t want it to be mere rhetoric,” he told reporters after the launch of the manifesto here today.

PH Bukit Kepayang candidate, Nicole Tan of DAP said that the PH-BN leadership would continue to empower and strengthen the role of women in the Village Community Management Council through the manifesto, adding that another interesting thing about the manifesto is a special emphasis for Felda to ensure the welfare of Felda settlers in the state and to improve exisiting initiatives.

"Of course, the attention stealers are the initiatives targetting youth, women and entrepreneurship as I was among those who suggested them, especially the seting up of a women’s council in every constituency, it’s important to boost women’s involvement in community matters,” she said.
