KUANTAN – Seven men were found safe after getting lost for almost four hours while climbing Bukit Galing near here on Saturday.

Fire and Rescue Department Pahang Assistant Director (Operations) Ismail Abdul Ghani said all the victims were found at 4.30pm without any injuries.

He said it was understood that the victims have climbed the hill before but this time they are believed to have lost their way and got lost.

"The fire department received a distress call from one of the climbers at 12.22pm informing us that he and his six other friends were lost on the hill.

"Acting on the information, 11 members including two officers from the Kuantan Fire and Rescue Station went to the location for the search operations,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Ismail said that the search operation was carried out based on the location given by the victim which was about 3km from location of the of the rescue team.
