Man killed by son in domestic dispute
PORT DICKSON - A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his father during a fight at their home earlier today.
The police received a call from the suspect at 12.45am, reporting that his father was unconscious in front of their house.
According to Port Dickson district police chief Superintendent Aidi Sham Mohamed, an assistant medical officer from the Bukit Pelandok health clinic arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim, a 49-year-old man, dead at 1.15am.
"Initial investigations revealed that the victim had been drinking and had gotten into a fight with the suspect.
"The suspect was reportedly unhappy with his father's behavior, which included making noise and using insults," he said.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at the Port Dickson district police headquarters.
The suspect has no prior criminal record and his urine screening test was negative.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
