Mahfuz offers to buy Sanusi a meal for his birthday
ALOR SETAR - Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Mahfuz Omar has offered to buy Kedah Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Sanusi Md Nor a meal for his birthday.
Mahfuz said that he would be willing to buy Sanusi a plate of mee abu, a traditional dish from Kedah.
"Today is Sanusi's birthday, and I still have some money left from the summons he paid me. I'd be happy to buy him a meal," Mahfuz said.
Mahfuz said that he made the offer because he wanted to show that he has no problems with Sanusi.
"I don't have a problem with him. Maybe it's his side that has a problem with me.
"He has problems with a lot of people, including the palace and the caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar. He's a difficult person," Mahfuz said.
Mahfuz said that he believes that if he and Sanusi could sit down and talk calmly, it would help to reduce Sanusi's anger and bring about more harmony.
"Let's try to calm him down so he doesn't become an example to the younger generation," he said.
Sanusi apologised to Mahfuz for slandering him in 2019.
He paid Mahfuz RM120,000 in damages and posted an apology on his Facebook page.
Mahfuz said that he accepts Sanusi's apology and is willing to move on.
"I forgive him. I hope that we can all move on and work together for the good of Kedah," he said.
