SHAH ALAM - A 23-year-old foreigner has been arrested for sexually harassing an elderly woman in Ampang, Selangor.

The incident took place on Aug 2 at around 3.30pm in a shop lot along Jalan Bunga Tanjung, Taman Muda.

According to the Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, the victim, a 71-year-old local housewife, was picking boxes for sale when the suspect approached her.

"The suspect, who is a UNHCR card holder, groped the victim's thigh and other body parts.

"He then took off his pants to reveal his private part to the victim and hugged her from behind.

"The victim screamed for help, and members of the public intervened to stop the suspect," he said in a statement yesterday.

The suspect was then arrested by the police.

A urine test was conducted on the suspect, which was positive for ketamine.
