State polls: PN offers monthly assistance of RM400 to ease Selangorians' burden
IZWAN ROZLIN, MOHD AZLIM ZAINURYSHAH ALAM - If the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition wins the state, Selangorians will relish an allocation of RM312 million per year under the Inisiatif Bantuan Prihatin Keluarga.
PN Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the initiative is expected to help 65,000 underprivileged families by providing monthly assistance worth RM400 to purchase necessities.
He said under the Selangor Fisherman's Aid Initiative, fishermen would receive RM5 million annually in aid for boat engines and aquaculture equipment for struggling fishermen.
"We are also offering to waive parking fees for parking lots monitored by local authorities (PBT) in the northern Selangor region. Additionally, we will increase the monthly allowance for the mosque and surau movers who serve as imams (RM1,700), bilals (RM800), siaks (RM600), and nazirs (RM600) paid by the state government," he said at the PN state election manifesto launch ceremony at the Double Tree Shah Alam Hotel here today.
Muhyiddin said Selangor PN would also establish the Darul Ehsan First Home scheme, offering three-room flats to those struggling and providing a special quota for young families.
PN will also expand the Peduli Sihat scheme, Muhyiddin said, including the Health Protection scheme for the Selangor people with a household income of RM5,000 and below.
This also covers a free transport facility called the Selangor Care Van that would facilitate the movement of older people and people with disabilities and an allocation of RM15 million to expand the Selangor Ambulance Community's network.
These are some of the offers laid out by PN to entice Selangor voters in the upcoming state polls on Aug 12.
Muhyiddin said the offers made by the Selangor PN are realistic and feasible.
"Thanks to the experience and expertise possessed by the future leadership of the PN state government in Selangor, we are confident that all these offers can be fulfilled quickly, efficiently and effectively," he said.
