Pas postpones campaigns in respect of Terengganu Sultan's mother

KUALA TERENGGANU - Pas has postponed all campaigns and assemblies in Terengganu on Thursday in respect of the death of the late mother of the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, Tengku Besar Terengganu Fatimah@Sharifah Nong Alsagoff Abdillah.

Terengganu Pas information department announced the postponement in a statement yesterday, saying that all campaign programmes would be resumed on Friday.

"We would like to express our sadness and condolences to Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Besar Terengganu Fatimah @ Sharifah Nong AlSagoff Abdillah who was the mother to Tuanku Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.

"With this, Terengganu Pas Election operations decided for all campaigns and assemblies tonight (Thursday) to be postponed," the statement read.

Tengku Besar Terengganu Fatimah @ Sharifah Nong Alsagoff Abdillah was reported passing in Kuala Lumpur at 3.17am on Thursday.

Her remains was brought from Kuala Lumpur to Terengganu by a special aircraft yesterday.

Sultan Mizan has allowed a five-day mourning period starting yesterday.
