State polls a chance to save Malaysia - Amirudin
KUALA LUMPUR - Caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has said that the upcoming state polls are a chance for Malaysians to save the country, just as they did during the fight for independence.
Speaking at a unity ceramah here yesterday, Amirudin said that the unity government has brought stability and economic growth to Malaysia in just eight months, compared to 15 months under the previous PH government.
"When Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was the prime minister, it took 15 months to bring back stability.
"We have done this not for our own pride or selfish interests, but to save our country," he said.
Amirudin warned that the opposition Perikatan Nasional (PN) only wants to destroy Selangor, which is the richest state in Malaysia.
"They never change. They will ruin our government and our country," he said.
Amirudin urged the public to vote for the unity government and for Juwairiya Zulkifli, the PH candidate for Hulu Kelang.
"Let's save our country and support the unity government by voting for Juwairiya Zulkifl," he said.
