Why fear DAP if Pas has strong presence in Terengganu, Loke asks
KUALA TERENGGANU - DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook has slammed Terengganu Pas, describing them as "afraid of their own shadows" for playing up sentiments that votes of Barisan Nasional would be considered votes of DAP in the state elections.
Loke said the actions indicated they were running out of ideas.
“There are no DAP candidates in Terengganu. How can a vote for BN change into a DAP candidate (vote). So (Pas) don’t (attempt to) fool the public.
“If you want to preach, be sure it is smart and mature. What’s frightening about me and DAP? I am the Transport Minister,” he said in a press conference at Kampung Cina here on Thursday.
He said such when asked to comment on Terengganu Pas deputy commissioner Datuk Dr Alias Razak’s statement.
Alias on Thursday claimed the candidates and BN leadership were preparing for Loke’s arrival in Terengganu, easing the work of Pas to woo voters.
He said the situation proved that a vote for BN would be for DAP.
However, Loke told Pas to refrain from instilling fear among voters, especially Malays, by associating issues with DAP.
“Pas has a strong presence lin Terengganu and they’re (also) strong. So why would they be afraid of DAP?,” he said.
