No Selangorians left behind in PH-BN’s five-point manifesto

SHAH ALAM – Selangor Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional launches its five-point manifesto which promises five years of continuous excellence in the state.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari who said that he had many promising plans and programmes for Selangor unveiled the offers which comprised 53 programmes that would benefit Selangorians from all walks of life.

He said that the plan was not a 'populist' promise, but would be immediately implemented in Selangor, if the people gave their mandate to the caretaker government in the state elections happening on Aug 12.

"These are our five commitments for the people of Selangor for the next five years. This is a promise from all PH-BN Selangor candidates and our entire team to bring Selangor towards a more stable, developed, peaceful, and harmonious state, which stands out in Malaysia and Southeast Asia," he said.

Amirudin, who is also the candidate for the Sungai Tua state seat, said this at the ‘Tawaran Kita Selangor, 5 Tekad untuk 5 Tahun’ (Kita Selangor Pledge: 'Five Commitments to Continue Five Years of Excellence in Selangor) manifesto launch and state candidate introduction session at Dewan Raja Muda Musa, Section 7, here, on Monday.

The five pledges include economic growth and high-quality education, religion as the source of light and inspiration in life, efficient government service, infrastructure development and protecting the interests of the people.

Amirudin, who had successfully helmed the state for five years said that under the economy pillar, a total of 100,000 high-income jobs for Selangor youth by attracting local and foreign investment.

“Other than that, TVET training will be provided for 10,000 young people to work with companies such as Apple, Siemens and Festo,” he said.

Amirudin added the state government would also work hand-in-hand with the Federal Government to deliver the third port in Pulau Carey, Port Klang, to make Selangor Southeast Asia’s premier investment destination.

“We will also establish three new townships in Sepang, Sabak Bernam, and along the Klang River, led by PKNS, MBI, and the private sector, complete with affordable housing options for the people of Selangor,” he said.

The government would also develop the Kita Selangor Rail Line to connect railway service from Klang to Kuala Selangor, Tanjong Karang and Sabak Bernam as well as connecting KLIA to Tanjong Sepang and Sungai Pelek, making the state a Rail Service Corridor.

For students, Amirudin said the government would focus on expanding the scope of the existing Tuisyen Rakyat Selangor programme by providing free tuition to primary and secondary school students, with a target of 200,000 participants.

“A total of RM1,500 per undergraduate student would be given through Bantuan Mahasiswa Kita Selangor.

“At the same time, we will provide more free language learning classes, such as Bahasa Melayu, English, Mandarin, Tamil, Japanese, and Korean,” Amirudin announced.

Public and private university students would also be able to enjoy RM200 Kita Selangor book voucher, should the current administration continued their tenure the next term.

Under the Islamic programme, Amirudin highlighted that Malaysia was a country with many races and religions hence the state government would provide subsidies of RM2,000 for travel and expense to perform Haj to 3,000 first-time Muassasah Pilgrims to facilitate their journey.

He also announced the increase of allowance for imams (RM1,600), bilal (RM700), siak (RM500)and nazir (RM500) in phases.

For women and youth, working mothers would be eligible to receive RM1,000 per year through the Wanita Kita Selangor initiative to reduce childcare expenses while a total of RM5 million Kita Selangor Digital grant would be offered to 10,000 youths under the Kita Selangor Creative Ambassadors programme.

The Gombak Member of Parliament (MP) also said that he aimed to improve and ensure the efficiency of government service.

“Hence, we will fully digitalise all government services to help the people in Selangor and create a Greater Klang Valley government that includes Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang as high-tech new administration models,” he said.

The manifesto also covered an expansion or previously introduced Inisiatif Roda Darul Ehsan (RIDE) programme with RM500 aid as well as Social Security Organisation and Employees Provident Fund contribution.

Amirudin also announced that they would establish Perumahan Penjawat Awam Kita Selangor initiative which aimed to build 10,000 housing units dedicated for state civil servants.

The PH’s candidate also set his sight on Selangor’s football scene as one of his manifesto with plans to establish Selangor as the leading sports talent development centre in Malaysia, empowering Akademi Merah Kuning to nurture the finest football talent.

“The Kita Selangor Aspiration aims for the triple crown, supporting the Red Giants’ quest to win the Malaysia Cup, SUKMA, and Liga Super championships by 2025, followed by the Asia Cup in 2027,” he said.

Aside from that, the commitment was also extended to farmers with RM1,000 incentive for farmers and paddy cultivators including better quality seeds, fertilisers and pesticides to boost harvest yields under the Pertanian Kita Selangor incentive.

Amirudin, while wrapping up his manifesto unveiling, stressed that the state government had unfinished business after its five years of excellence in governing Selangor and called for voters to vote for Pakatan Harapan on Aug 12 so that the aims could be achieved.

“We have unfinished business here, so vote for Pakatan Harapan so we will have five more years together towards '5 Tekad Untuk 5 Tahun',” he said.
