PN's 'Selangor Baharu' manifesto to focus on cost of living, pressing issues - Dr Afif
RAIHAM MOHD SANUSI FARAH SHAZWANI ALISHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional's (PN) 'Selangor Baharu' manifesto will focus on the cost of living and economic stimulus, said Taman Medan PN candidate Dr Afif Bahardin.
He said the manifesto, which will be tabled tomorrow, would also address issues related to the halted income due to Covid-19, as well as the concerns of women, youth and e-hailing riders.
"We will not make programmes such as the recent one in Petaling Jaya that called all e-hailing riders to give them cash or mention in recent speeches that we would give them cash for voting for us,"Afif said in the Berani Semuka programme titled ‘Kita Selangor vs Selangor Baharu’ that saw him with Seri Serdang Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Abbas Azmi.
"PN would provide aid and service to all (public) no matter the time as this was our struggle principle because we don't fight for a single individual," he added.
Afif said PN contested to become the voice and spokesman of the people who were currently pressed by the cost-of-living issues and burdens they faced daily.
"That's why our offer for 'Selangor Baharu' focused on the education, welfare and restoring the programmes we previously implemented.
"For example, in the free water supply programme, it previously covered 1.5 million Air Selangor account users benefiting from it.
"However, under the Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari the users benefitting it did not reach 600,000, it was not comprehensive.
"That's why we must restore Selangor to its former glory. Not only glorious as a great and advanced state, but to care for the welfare and concerns to ensure the pride and fate of the Selangor public," he added.
The 'Selangor Baharu' manifesto will be announced tomorrow.
