Politically Frank: DAP relies on populist leaders, social media, MCA on grassroots support, says Ti
SHAH ALAM - MCA Vice President Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker says DAP and MCA are two fundamentally different political parties in terms of ability, infrastructure and organisation.
He said DAP relies on populist leaders and social media for strength while MCA's service DNA and grassroots support sets them apart from one another.
"DAP is adopting MCA's approach (now after coming into the government), working with Malays and non-Chinese but (still) lacks MCA's service DNA and grassroots support.
"Their strength lies in populist leaders and social media, making them different from MCA," said Ti during Sinar Daily's Politically Frank series.
On the other hand, Ti said MCA was a party founded as an association to serve the community driven by a dedication towards national unity and cohesion.
Due to that, he said MCA serves without harboring enmity due to different approaches.
Ti further advocates responsibility, transparency and sincerity as key guiding principles.
”DAP should distance themselves from Pas radicalisation and address the 3R issues openly.
”They need to apologise and focus on development, unity, and harmony to get my full support.’
On his leadership role in MCA, Ti expressed a desire to serve the people and the country in their own capacity without aspiring for leadership positions.
”I have served for a long time as a division chairman and three-term state assemblyman since 1995.
”While I don't aspire to lead a party, I am committed to serving the people and the country," he added.
