Pas, Dominic issue is just a 'political ploy' to woo Chinese voters
BAYAN LEPAS - The recent Pas and Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai ceramah debacle, is just a political move to woo Chinese voters.
Former Bayan Lepas assemblyman Azrul Mahathir Aziz said the incident seemed like a ploy to get sympathy from the Chinese and non-Malay voters in the constituency.
"There are two perceptions of the incident, one is to gain sympathy from the voters and second Pas is still upset that their seat was given to Gerakan," he said when met at Balai Jalan Sepakat, here today.
However, Azrul criticised Pas's impolite behaviour of chasing Lau away from a Perikatan Nasional (PN) Mega Talk at Sungai Dua on August 1st, 2023.
"In terms of manners, it's not good and polite. They could have just ask him to leave in a nice manner, it looks pretty rough in the video.
"However, for me it is a propaganda to attract the Chinese voters to sympathize with Lau," he said.
On Tuesday, Lau was reportedly asked to leave the PN mega talk after showing up without being invited.
Lau, who is the Bayan Lepas candidate, however claimed that it was 'untrue'.
He said he had gone to the talk to meet Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, but as the event ran late, he left without meeting him.
