Sanusi hits back at Saifuddin, says he is too old to be Anwar’s lackey
JITRA - “Cut it out Pudin. You’re too old to be Anwar’s lackey!”
That was the tit-for-tat hurled by caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor against his fiercest critic to-date, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Although Sanusi claimed that he understood Saifuddin’s motivation in doing the alleged bidding of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, he also believed that it was timely for him to retire.
“Look, we get it. You lost the elections and was made into a senator and appointed as a minister. You owe Anwar big time. So, you obey all of his requests.
“Please stop Pudin (Saifuddin). You’re old already. You even have grandchildren to boot.
“Why are you still being someone else’s lackey?," Sanusi questioned followed by an uprarious cheer from the crowds who gathered at the Perikatan Nasional (PN) ceramah at Dataran Darulaman, here, last night.
Sanusi — the poster boy of PN for the coming Aug 12 Kedah polls — has been at loggerheads with Saifuddin with the latter religiously needling him over the rare earth elements theft in Kedah.
“You only have three years left to be a senator. After that you’re finished.
“Anwar will fall this August, so, after that where will you go?” quipped Sanusi who is defending his state seat Jeneri against a one-on-one electoral bout with Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Mohammad Khizri Abu Kassim.
In the Kedah polls, a total of 1,585,085 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in a contest involving 83 candidates vying for Kedah’s 36 state seats.
