Doctor’s Orders: Tok Mat can’t campaign due to influenza

SHAH ALAM - Mohamad Hasan, the incumbent for Rantau seat has apologised for his absence during the campaigning period in Negeri Sembilan due to influenza, which has caused a severe cough and fever.

Mohamad, commonly known as Tok Mat in an Instagram post today said his doctors has advised him to stay home to prevent spreading the virus to others.

Wearing a blue shirt with a Barisan Nasional logo and a patch over his forehead to manage fever, he said "I apologise for not fulfilling my engagements in the next two to three days."

"The doctors have advised me to rest at home and I must heed their advice," he said in between ocassional sniffles.

While recovering from the influenza, Tok Mat who is also the Rembau MP expressed his regret for not being able to fulfill his promise to visit voters for the next three days.

"I hope to meet as many voters as possible once I have fully recovered," he said.

Despite falling ill, Tok Mat hopes to recover as soon as possible to meet voters ahead of Aug 12 polls in Negeri Sembilan.

The other states gearing up for elections are Selangor, Kedah, Penang, Terengganu and Kelantan.
