Give some space for young leaders, urges Telok Bahang candidate

BALIK PULAU - Barisan Nasional (BN) Telok Bahang candidate Ahmad Zaki Shah Shah Headan has urged the people to give some space for young political leaders in the nation's political landscape.

"The political atmosphere has already changed. Now, the people want leaders who are very energetic, new, and fresh to represent what they want.

"Besides, we need to understand that now, the welfare of young voters also should be looked after," Zaki said in an exclusive interview with Sinar Daily during his walkabout at Sungai Rusa, here.

Taking himself as an example, Zaki who is 34 years old, said Umno is currently fielding more young candidates to attract young voters.

"We (Umno) are hoping to attract the young voters here in Telok Bahang so that we can help Pakatan Harapan win the state elections,"he said

Zaki will be contesting against his rival from Perikatan Nasional (PN), Kolonel (B) Muhamad Kasim, in the Penang state elections, which will be held on August 12.

Zaki’s father,is a former member of the Telok Bahang State Assembly, Datuk Shah Headan Ayoob Shah, who served the people here in 2013.

"My father has also given me the best advice: keep on helping the poeple and respond fast to any complaints from them. That’s what I want to do for the people here," he elaborated.
