Unity government candidates urge public to support PH-BN
KUALA LANGAT - Candidates from the unity government coalition have urged the public to support them in the upcoming state election on Aug 12.
The candidates, who are from Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN), said that they are committed to working together to bring prosperity to Selangor.
"We want to show that Selangor can be successful under the unity government," Sungai Pelek candidate Lwi Kian Keong said in his speech at Ceramah Jelajah Perpaduan PMX at Dewan Muhibbah Tanjong Sepat here today.
He drew inspiration from the success of Penang and believed that all states, including Selangor, could achieve prosperity under the right leadership.
Meanwhile, Tanjong Sepat candidate Borhan Aman Shah highlighted transparency and accountability as the two essential pillars of the Selangor unity government coalition.
He assured the public that the unity government would uphold these principles.
"We will fulfill our responsibilities truthfully and refrain from engaging in corruption," he stressed.
Umno secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki argued that the unity government represented the sole path to ensuring political stability and economic prosperity in Selangor.
He called for the collective abandonment of egos in favor of working together for the welfare of the people.
"We have to throw our egos aside and work together for the sake of the people.
"The power is in your hands. Make sure you vote for PH-BN," he said.
The candidates also urged the public to use their wisdom and vote for the unity government in the upcoming election.
Parti Amanah Negara's (Amanah) Hajah Raj Munni Sabu, speaking on behalf of the coalition, stressed that there is only two war which is unity candidate and Perikatan Nasional.
"It's important for Selangor to be under unity government," she said.
