Set aside personal agendas, rally behind PN, Lau tells Gerakan

BAYAN LEPAS - Gerakan President Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai has called on those within the party who oppose him to set aside their personal agendas and rally behind Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the state elections.

During the election campaign in Taman Mas, here, Lau touced on the importance of all parties coming together to win the hearts of the public and secure PN's victory in the elections.

“Set aside your personal agenda, what’s not good for the party should not be stated.

“Now everyone must move as one and aid the party in winning this election. That’s much more important,” he said when met by reporters, here.

The Penang chairman acknowledged the concerns expressed by those who pushed for his resignation, particularly from former Gerakan secretary-general Datuk Liang Teik Meng, who contested against him for the president post.

However, he welcomed all members, including those who did not support him in the party election, to work together and support Gerakan's candidates in the upcoming polls.

On his candidacy in the Bayan Lepas seat, Lau said he will be running as the official Gerakan candidate, even though his name was initially omitted during the official Penang PN candidate announcement.

The Bayan Lepas PN candidacy was initially offered to Pas, which named Penang Pas secretary Iszuree Ibrahim.
