Now Bachok MP rejects Rafizi's offer to debate on nation's economy
SHAH ALAM - Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli's offer to debate on the country's economic affairs with Bachok MP Mohd Syahir Sulaiman has been rejected.
Rafizi, the PKR deputy president today said none from Perikatan Nasional (PN) accepted his challenge to debate on the nation's economy.
Rafizi said he had sent a letter to several PN members, including the former economy minister and the PN commander-in-chief, as well as their technocratic economists.
A similar offer was also turned down by caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor.
"They are not daring enough to lay out their economic agenda.
"They want to go to the moon and win but they do not bother with discussions for the public," he replied to Syahir's tweet, today.
Yesterday, Rafizi challenged Syahir to debate with him on economic affairs.
Syahir, the Bachok MP had said he shared the same view as Sanusi, who wants to prioritised dedicating his time and energy towards serving the people and addressing their issues.
Syahir said he wants to engage with any party openly, maturely and harmoniously, as he had done during the 14th general election (GE14).
"Firstly, I am appreciative of this invitation and recognition.
"In my opinion, it is better that we focus on our remaining time and energy on working and serving to solve the tasks and problems at hand," Syahir added.
