Pas prohibits members from disclosing internal issues
FARHANA ABD KADIRSHAH ALAM - Pas prohibits its members from making any public statements related to the party's internal affairs, whether through the media, in video or audio form.
Its Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said it included statements related to matters concerning the state polls’ candidate.
"In this regard, every member needs to remember that selecting candidates to represent Pas for the Dewan Rakyat or the state legislative assembly is done according to clear provisions in the party's constitution, not on the insistence, pressure and influence of any party.
"It needs to go through many levels, including the Shura Ulama Council, Central Pas Working Committee and the Elections Department, taking into account the views of organisations at all levels," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said any statement, especially those that would risk support for the party and Perikatan Nasional (PN) must be stopped immediately to prevent the disciplinary committee from having to carry out proceedings.
He added that any question or dispute within the party should be brought up and resolved through the right channels.
"Pas, together with its coalition partners in PN are confident that we will continue to be given a mandate by the people in this state polls to continue to serve at the state and national level," he said.
