MANJUNG - A 10-year-old boy was found dead suspected of drowning on the beach of Teluk Senangin here today.

The victim, Muhammad Faris Irfan, was found at 8.20am this morning two nautical miles away from the beach, after being missing since yesterday.

Remis Fire and Rescue Station head, Mohd Akmal Hussin said the search operations had been carried out since yesterday after his team received a call at 3.19pm.

According to him, information related to the incident was received from members of the public stating that the child went missing at the beach area while having fun with family members.

"The victim was found clothed by fishermen near Tanjung Hantu, a distance of two nautical miles from the location where the victim is believed to have disappeared.

"The deceased was handed over to the police for further action," he said in today's statement.

Mohd Akmal said the rescue operation started at 3.30pm, yesterday with a surface search in the coastal area of ​​Teluk Senangin.

According to him, the rescue team using a boat also conducted a search in the sea as far as two nautical miles away from the scene of the incident.
