PH candidate affirms Islam's dignity in Malay minority Penang

TASEK GELUGOR - Pakatan Harapan's Telok Ayer candidate, Mohsein Shariff gave assurance that Islam maintains its dignity in Penang despite Malays being a minority in the island.

Mohsein is gearing up to contest against Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate, Azmi Alang in the upcoming Aug 12 state elections.

"For Penang, PH will be working together with Barisan Nasional (BN) while maintaining our momentum with the unity government at the federal government, " Mohsein said.

He further highlighted a distinctive feature of Penang where the azan (call to prayer) is called twice every morning.

Furthermore, he noted that 17 new mosques have been built which shows the community's dedication to their faith.

"InshaAllah, I believe throughout the three terms of the administration in Penang, we have done many good deeds for Penangnites including for the Muslim community," Mohsein said during his speech at Thai Food Garden, Bagan Ajam, tonight.

Mohsein, the son of former Tasek Gelugor MP Tan Sri Mohd Shariff further elaborated that he aims to carry forward the legacy of his father, who had made significant changes in the area.

"My father used to serve here. My father has made a lot of changes, and I want to continue this legacy," he added.

He further said Telok Air Tawar which is under his constituency as many unique features with many fishermen and farmers and needs a candidate that know how to develop an area woth different
