The decision to fire and suspend the members were made during the Supreme Council meeting on Wednesday, said Bersatu Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

SHAH ALAM - A Bersatu member was fired, while two others were suspended for three years for violating Clause 10.2.2 of the party's Constitution.

The decision was made during the Supreme Council meeting on Wednesday, said Bersatu Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

"The reason for taking action is that the individuals in question have violated Clause 10.2.2 of the Bersatu Constitution by inciting, boycotting, and sabotaging the Perikatan Nasional (PN) election campaign," he said in a statement, today.

Hamzah said any member of Bersatu who contests, supports or advocates for another party or independent candidate without the party's permission will face the same consequences for violating party discipline.

"As per Clause 10.2.4 of the United Constitution, his membership has been terminated with immediate effect," he said.

He added that Bersatu is fully committed to ensuring that the party puts in full effort for the state polls and the Kuala Terengganu by-election to secure a victory for PN.
