KUALA LUMPUR - The police have vowed to complete their investigations into 3R issues (religion, race, and royalty) within a week if detected during the state polls.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said an immediate investigation would be initiated to prevent any delays.

"A thorough investigation will be conducted if any election-related offences are detected during the state polls. Investigation papers will be sent to the Deputy Public Prosecutors in the respective states and districts for appropriate action," he said at a press conference at Bukit Aman on Saturday.

He added that the measure guarantees that each investigation is promptly conducted and concluded.

Razarudin also reminded all political parties involved in this PRN not to play with 3R issues.

"I would like to emphasise and remind all parties involved that there should not be any sensitive issues raised during the campaigning period.

"We will monitor all platforms, including social media, and carefully review any findings," he said.

Razarudin said it is the responsibility of all parties involved to ensure that the state elections run smoothly until Aug 12th.
