PETALING JAYA - Seri Setia voters will be spoilt for choice cum this Aug 12 as four candidates battle for their approval to lead the constituency.

The four are independent candidate Harindran Krishnan, Muda’s Dobby Chew, Pakatan Harapan’s Dr Fahmi Ngah and Perikatan Nasional’s Datuk Mohd Zubir Embong.

The candidates arrived a few minutes before 9am where they had entered the nomination centre to file their documents for submission.

The situation turned “a bit unruly” when supporters started booing the opposing candidates when the returning officer announced their names and candidacy numbers.

The Seria Setia seat covers areas such as Bandar Sunway, Kelana Jaya and Ara Damansara, known for shopping malls and towering luxury condominiums but also has since become hotbeds for squatter settlements.

Dobby, in an exclusive interview with Sinar Daily, recently said Seri Setia was a constituency that reflected the true Malaysia and diverse set-up.

He said among things he wanted to address was traffic congestion despite having three LRT stations in the constituency.

“Transportation is one of the issue I want to address first, and secondly, infrastructure,” he said.
