State polls: 'Dad...Where are you going?'
KUALA PILAH - "Dad... where are you going?," asks the son of Datuk Eddin Shazlee Shith when the former accompanied his father to the Juasseh State Legislative Assembly nomination centre here, today.
The boy who was in primary school was unable to understand what was happening around him yet.
He woke up early in the morning and marched with his parents and dozens of Perikatan Nasional (PN) supporters when suddenly two men (proposer and supporter) took his father away (for the nomination process).
His mind was spinning trying to digest what was going on and it was normal for small children to spontaneously blurt out whatever comes to their mind.
Meanwhile, the candidate's daughter hugged her father tightly as if she did not want to let him go.
This was the scenario during the nomination of candidates in the Juasseh state assembly which is hoped to present a positive value to each candidate to some extent.
Whatever happens, the fate of future generations needed to be given attention to.
Maybe now they do not really understand but who knows, one day they might be the ones running the country. - AWANI
